Privacy Policy
Carolina Generator Solutions (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates carolinageneratorsolutions.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Contact and quote form submissions. When you request a quote or contact us through our website, we collect your name, phone number, email address, service address or ZIP code, property details (such as home size, service type, and timeline), and any message content you include. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, schedule an on-site assessment, and provide ongoing service if you become a customer.
- Scheduling and service records. If you become a customer, we retain records of your installation, service appointments, equipment details, warranty information, and communications related to your service.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on site, referral source, device type, and approximate location (city-level). Google may set cookies on your browser to support this. See Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google processes this data.
- Advertising data. We use the Meta Pixel and/or Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These tools may collect data about your visit, including pages viewed and actions taken, and share it with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) or Google for ad targeting and measurement. See Meta’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy and Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cookies. Our site uses cookies for analytics (GA4). Some of these are third-party cookies set by Google and Meta respectively. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we use your data
- To respond to you. Contact and quote form data is used to reply to your inquiry, prepare a quote, schedule an on-site assessment, and provide service.
- To provide service. If you become a customer, we use your contact and service information to schedule, perform, and follow up on installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- To understand site performance. Analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from.
- To measure ad effectiveness. Ad-pixel data helps us understand whether our advertising reaches the right people.
- To send appointment confirmations and service updates. We may contact you by phone, email, or text (SMS) to confirm appointments, provide service updates, and follow up on your request, based on the consent you provided.
We do not add you to marketing lists without your consent, and we do not sell your personal data.
Text messaging (SMS) and calls
When you submit a quote request or contact form and check the consent box, you agree to be contacted by phone, email, or text message at the number and address you provided, regarding your request and related service updates.
- Message frequency varies based on the status of your request and service.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us. You can get help by replying HELP.
- Opting out of SMS does not opt you out of other communications (phone calls or emails) unless you also request those stop.
- We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Email communications
We use Google Workspace to send transactional emails such as responses to your contact form submissions, quote documents, appointment confirmations, and service follow-ups. These providers process your email address solely to deliver these messages on our behalf. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google (Analytics) — anonymized usage data.
- Meta (Pixel) / Google Ads — site visit and conversion data.
- Our email service provider — your email address for transactional messages.
- Our SMS service provider — your phone number for transactional messages.
- Our scheduling and CRM software — your contact and service information to schedule, perform, and record your service.
- Financing partners — only if you choose to apply for financing through us, and only the information you explicitly provide during the application.
- Our installation team and subcontractors — your name, address, phone, and service details, as necessary to perform scheduled work.
- Government authorities — only where required by law, such as for permitting and inspections, or when legally compelled.
Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies.
Data retention
- Contact and quote form submissions that do not become customers are retained for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted.
- Customer records (installation, service, warranty, and communications) are retained as long as you are an active customer and for up to 7 years after your last service, to support warranty claims, tax/accounting requirements, and equipment history.
